What is this "HORSE THING" that everyone has gone crazy about called Team Penning? It is the fastest growing equine sport in the United States. It’s a sport that the whole family can get involved in. But beware!!!!, once you start, you can't stop!

How does it Work?

    Cattle are numbered in groups of three and are herded down on one end of an arena. Teams of three riders cross a start line as the announcer calls out a number. The team separates the three cattle from the herd, pushes them to the other end of the arena and gets them into a small square pen. The team with the fastest time wins.  Sounds easy huh?  Oh yea I forgot to tell you all this in 75 seconds or less.

Welcome to the Bertram Team Penning Club.  The club is a Christian based, Youth oriented club. It has been in existence since 1992 and was originally a practice pen for riders in the area to practice for local competitions.  After most of the competitions moved on, the club decided to make part of the practices a friendly competition. So the club as it is today came into existence.  This year is shaping up to be a fantastic year.  We are having one competition and one practice each month.  Both will be held at the Blue Bonnet arena, located on CR 112, 3 miles north of Burnet Tx. on Hwy 281 (see map for direction) We hope you come and join us for some friendly fun.

A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT

August 26:  I want to thank everyone that came out last Saturday night. That was quite a crowd.  A good time was had by all. We gained 7 new members and we are glad they are riding with us.  Even thought the season is half over the club continues to grow. And for that I want to say "thank you" and "welcome."  I want to remind everyone that there is only "2" more practices remain for the season and only "3" competitions left.  So lets all come out, bring your friends, and have fun with what season is left.
